Thanx Louise you lovely thing!
Its day number 5 her in Manitoba, Canada and I am taking it easy after travelling a hectic 10 days through Singapore, Paris, Munich and Los Angeles.Throw in a couple of 13 hour flights and your happy to stay statioary for a week! Next week we leave for Cranberry, Portage to meet up with Irvin Head, the third artist in our terrific trio. Looking forward to a bit of cultural exchange with Irvin and his people. My artwork still hasn't surfaced yet.... I'm sure it's sitting in customs in Winnipeg somewhere, I am getting a little anxious about it. Looking forward to creating soon as I have had major visual and cultural overload! I'll post some photo's soon.

Hi Jules Vern,
Ive just arrived back in Morden Manitoba at Marcel & Joyces, after travelling up north to Cranberry Portage to see Irvin Head and synchronize art events etc...
It was getting pretty cold, not freezing yet about 6 degrees celcius.
I ate lots of bush tucker including moose, wolli (pickerel) and dined with Irvin's family as they played drums and sang. We went bush looking for bears but they are hibernating now. I did see elk and buffalo and drank spruce beer and Birch and cranberry wine. It was very cool. Paris was fantastic and a visual overload!! LA was great but a little surreal.
My artwork has finally surfaced and I have to go to Winnipeg on tuesday to try to get it through customs. Hopefully they won't want me to pay an arm and a leg to collect my own artwork!! I have 4 speaking gigs booked in over the next month. Its thanks giving this sunday My first ever! but I think its a little like christmas without the presents, you just eat all day! I'm having trouble with my emails... I can receive but I can't send, so don't think I'm ignoring them!!
I'm having a great time, missing the family here and there, but I'm talking to them regularly. great to hear from you!
Love to you and the family,
alison xx

hey alison!
glad to hear you have made it safe and sound to the great white north - sounds like you have a fairly hectic schedule (for manitoba anyway...)
i'm bummed we didn't catch up before you left, but we were all sick till about two weeks ago so it's probably for the best.
anyway, i hope you are really enjoying your stay. i also hope dad shows you a couple of my old works that are lying around the studio - i'd love to have you see a bit of what i did while i was in mexico... it was kinda like what you are enjoying i think - that whole sensory overload that comes with new experiences! we'll have to have an art jam when you get back and just lay it all out on the deck and spend a few days creating. i'd also love to hear about your trip and check out any pics you have etc.
anyway, i haven't been much in contact as not only was i sick but my computers were all stuffed (i now have one working... sorta... lol) and we also went bush for two weeks which was awesome - i love camping!
anyway, i gotta go pick up joe, but i hope you have such a fantastic time there and that it really is everything you hoped for!
big love
carm

Hi carmel,
Great to hear from you. Gald to hear you are all well and your camping photo's on marcel's face book look cruisey. the twins are really powering!
Marcel and Joyce are really making my stay great and yes, it's been a pretty busy schedule so far. yesterday I did a day in the high school at macgregor which was fun and exhausting. hopefully my paintings will arrive at Sandy's today so we can collect them .... I think I am missing a box! I'll soon see anyway and chase it up. Tomorrow we are in Winnipeg and meeting with some galleries and I will be interviewed on APTN. I have watched it a bit since arriving here and I really like the content. Last night they had a show featuring Australian Aboriginal healing and I saw my good friend Warrungga Dunggiir on it! He is a Gumbaynggirr artist and dancer. I'm really enjoying the cultural exchange, I'm sure when I get home I will be totally inspired. a paint off would be great.
Love to you and the family.
Alison
